Three stories that happened in Morocco, Mexico and Japan. Richard (Brad Pitt) and his wife Susan (Kate Blanchett) travel to Morocco because of the marital crisis. Susan is shot in a station wagon. In order to treat Susan, a truckload of American tourists have to be stranded in a small village in Morocco. The police also escalated the incident into a terrorist attack and launched an investigation, but the truth is surprisingly simple. The Richards are stranded in Morocco, affecting the family's children. In order to attend her son's wedding, the Mexican babysitter can only let her nephew (Gail Garcia Benard) drive her and the children, but, when they came back from Mexico, they ran into trouble, and the police suspected her of kidnapping American children, and things began to get out of control. In Japan, the deaf-mute girl Chieko lives alone in a silent world. Her mother's suicide makes it more difficult for her to communicate with her father. Because of her own disability, she does not get the attention of the opposite sex, and her character becomes more and more rebellious. So she communicates with the world in her own way.
