For musician Remy (Patrick Duval Patrick Dewaere), life is getting harder and harder, not only because of professional stagnation, but also because of his wife's constant appearance and boring marriage life. At this juncture, Remy was shocked but relieved by the news of his wife's death in a car accident, while his wife's 14-year-old stepdaughter Marianne (Ariel Bessie Ariel Besse) also became a burden.
