Before Midnight (2013)

"Love before Dawn" and "Love at Sunset", which are regarded as the standard of love by moviegoers, finally ushered in the third film "before midnight". In the first film, the young American Jesse (Ethan Hawk Ethan Hawke) meets the French girl Celine (Julie Delpe Julie Delpy) by train, and the two spend an unforgettable night in Vienna; in the second film, nine years later, Jesse has become a writer, and his novel reunites him with Celine in Paris, and the two continue their relationship before sunset. Now another nine years later, Jesse and Celine have lived together and have twin daughters, and have more feelings about life and love. "Love before midnight" is the last day of their holiday on the small island of Peloponnese in Greece. Director Richard Linklater and the two stars are like going on a nine-year date with fans. Although the trilogy spans 18 years, the storyline can almost be written on the back of a piece of paper. The film is used to telling stories only through human dialogue. The two protagonists either walk in a quiet village or sit leisurely at the terrace and dining table, constantly discussing topics such as literature, love, life, gender and so on.
