Beyond Loch Ness (2008)

James Murphey (Brian Krause) is a sturdy mysterious zoologist who meets the legendary Loch Ness creature on his way to Loch Ness, which kills his father and leaves a deep scar on his face. Twenty years later, James hunted the Loch Ness monster and came to the sleeping town of long Spear Island on Lake Superior. He hired Josh Riley as his guide. James and Josh had a common interest in science and both lost their fathers, so they became good friends. James wants Josh's mother, Sheriff Karen Riley, to believe that the 60-foot snake neck is killing creatures.
