The six-episode Hulu series Catch-22, produced by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content and based on Joseph Heller's novel of the same name, is scheduled to be released in full season on May 17, with two episodes each directed by George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Ellen Kuras. The limited series, written by Luke Davies and David Mich ô d, tells the story of the protagonist Yossarian (Christopher Abbott) in Italy during World War II, who forces his brigade to fly dangerously because of personal problems with Colonel Cathcart (Kyle Chandler, originally played by George Clooney). Yossarian originally wanted to evade the mission by pretending to be crazy, but he was told that although the army's so-called catch 22 meant that a madman could not fly, he had to apply on his own, but the "self-application" proved the applicant himself.
