In the beautiful sunny and picturesque town of Bagueria, the young Peppino spent his carefree childhood until the shadow of war enveloped the town and broke the peace there. As an adult, Peppino still makes a living by leading cows to sell fresh milk in the street. one day he met the beautiful girl Manina and fell in love with her at first sight. through unremitting efforts, he worked hard to win Manina's heart, and the two finally got together despite the opposition of Manina's parents. The poverty after marriage led to the death of their first child, but fortunately they soon had several other children, and have been mired in the trivialities of life ever since. Peppino was once again inspired by the rise of the communist movement, and his life was gradually calmed by the death of his father and the further development of the movement. The sunshine of Bagueria seemed to be immutable, and the children grew up, while he grew older and older. At this time, recalling his childhood, it seems like a lifetime ago. This film is a tribute to his hometown Sicily released by the famous Italian director Giuseppe Tonatore (Giuseppe Tornatore) after the Sicilian trilogy for many years.
