Sonia (Lena Stolze Lena Stetz) is a female student in a high school in Bavaria, Germany. In order to participate in the thesis competition, she collects materials everywhere and prepares to write a paper on "hometown under the third Reich". But with the deepening of the investigation, she encountered more and more resistance. Neither villagers nor government officials wanted Sonia to uncover the town's Nazi history. Sonia's family and love are under great pressure, and she herself was taken to court by the government. Overnight, the innocent girl in the eyes of everyone seems to have become a bad girl that everyone hates. This film is adapted from a real event and won the Best Foreign language Film Oscar in 1991 and the Silver Bear Award at the 1990 Berlin Film Festival.
