The story takes place in Algeria in the 1930s. At the age of 9, Eunes was brought up with his uncle, a pharmacist in Oran, and was given a new name, Jonas. He grew up and became friends with the young people in the village of Leo Salado. Among the friends, there was a girl, Emily, and everyone fell in love with her. A great love was born between Jonas and her, but it was soon disturbed by the conflict that destabilized the country.
