Actor Gary Oldman and actress Francis McDormond played a young couple 29 years ago. The film tells the story of a veteran who had a nervous breakdown and was imprisoned in a mental hospital after trying to die. There he found that the patients were treated badly and the doctors and staff abused them unscrupulously, so he began a long and arduous road of resistance. Although this film is based on real events, it can be called a real version of "Flying over the Bedlam".
