North Korea, a country of 22 million. In the past 10 years, as many as 3 million people in the country have starved to death. Today, more than 40% of North Korean children suffer from chronic malnutrition. Children of secret states are a survey of North Korea, seen by many as the last Stalinist dictatorship, a covert and closed country full of propaganda and hostility to democracy and the West. Joe Layburn and Hardcash's team found a young North Korean known under the pseudonym Ahn Chol. His devastating footage shows an estimated 200000 street children (mainly orphans) foraging in the mud and gutters, ignored by adults and ignored by countries that claim to be in their arms.
