At the end of "Cocoon", several old people, such as Arthur Selwyn, accompanied the alien spaceship to leave Earth and start a new page of their lives. In this sequel, directed by Daniel Petrie, this group of old people have the opportunity to return to Earth to help alien friends save a batch of stone eggs endangered by the earthquake. In the process, they are similar to those of the past.
