Cutie and the Boxer (2013)

The film is the first feature film of documentary director Zachary Heinzerling. Cutie and the boxer tells the story of more than 40 years of marriage between Japanese activist painter Ushio Shinohara and his wife Noriko Shinohara, who often need to constantly learn and tolerate each other's personalities and shortcomings. Ushio Shinohara, 73, works mainly in New York, wearing boxing gloves wrapped in sponges and dipped in ink to paint on the canvas, while his wife Noriko, who has always been regarded as her husband's assistant, is also trying to realize the value of her existence.
