Dancer in the Dark (2000)
Thelma (Bjorck), a Czech immigrant who works in a rural factory in the United States, is kind by nature and her vision is becoming increasingly blurred because of her congenital disease. In order not to let her son who inherited the disease inherit his fate, Selma works hard every day. When her unwitting friend and colleague Linda (Kathleen Danife) is distressed and persuaded, she always smiles back, because she has another world that belongs purely to music, in which the beauty and quietness are enough to withstand the sadness and hardship of reality. To her relief, she basically raised the cost of her son's operation before she was about to go blind, but at this time, the accident happened and her fate was accelerated to a complex and miserable situation.
