In a remote northern town, a street, one side of the residents, one side of the business, formed a complete and dilapidated community. Thomas (Leonard Lucieer), a 12-year-old boy, dresses himself as a black man all day long, just like the Congolese leader Lumumba he admires. The boy's mother, Martha (Annet Malherbe), becomes a believer after hearing the teachings of the Holy Sound and refuses to have sex with her husband. The butcher's father, Jacob (Jack Wouterse), suffers from sexual torment and can only spy on other women in the store. The postman Plegg (Alex van Warmerdam) is Thomas's only good friend. His hobby is to steal and open other people's letters. The ranger patrolled with guns all day, finding fault with the postman again and again. One day, the arrival of a black man disturbed the seemingly peaceful life in the town.
