Dirty Hearts (2011)

In Brazil, as far away as South America, Takahashi Takahashi, who runs a photo studio, and his wife Miyuki, who is a teacher for Japanese children, live a peaceful and happy life. But in the context of World War II, any happiness is fragile. Although the news of Japan's surrender came, the vast majority of Japanese, led by Daisuke Watanabe (No.2 Okuda), refused to believe this fact. Coupled with the fact that few people understood the Portuguese news, they believed that it was just an imperial propaganda trick. All the Japanese who accepted the defeat were accused of being "national thieves", while Takahashi was entrusted with the important task of eliminating traitors who shook the hearts and minds of the people. Background: a total of 23 people were killed, 147 injured and 381 arrested in the "winning group" of Brazilian and Japanese expatriates after World War II. Reporter Fernando Moles wrote "Dirty Heart" based on the incident, and the film is based on the book.
