In the 1910's, the Roman aristocrat Daniele DiBaniasco Daniele di Bagnasco (Terence Stampp) was an upper-class playboy who fell in love with a beautiful petty bourgeoisie woman Manoera Roderigi Manoela Roderighi (Laura Antonelli), and nothing could resist his passionate relationship with Manoella. After a while, his sweetheart began to linger in brothels. When Daniele arrived at the elegant brothel, he could not believe that Manoera was calm and unconscious, and he did not find anything special about her. Finally, on a rainy night, Manoera confessed to Daniele that she had met a man. Daniele doesn't want to spit the man's name out of her mouth, but he soon discovers that Manoera's new lover is his cousin Michele Barra Michele Barra (played by Marcelo Maschuani). The film is adapted from the famous novel God by Swiss-born Italian writer and journalist Luciano Zucoli (Luciano Zuccoli;1868.12.5~1929.11.26).
