Vera, an old lady in the nursing home, rolled down the stairs with a wheelchair and was killed instantly. Her nanny Dorothy (Kathy Bates Kathy Bates) stands beside her with a murder weapon in her hand. Dorothy is the only suspect. It turned out that Dorothy was Vera's maid for 40 years, and because she was scolded and perverted by her master, the case could easily lead to a vengeful murder. The police have been trying to convict her and sentence her to 20 years in prison. The case alarmed Dorothy's daughter Charlene (Jennifer Jason Lee Jennifer Jason Leigh), who is a journalist in New York. She personally participated in the tracking of the case, reunited with her mother who had been separated for many years, and lived together for a few days. This forced her to look back on the dark past, and Dorothy always remembered what her daughter looked like when she was a child. At the same time, a demonic figure was awakened by the memory.
