Dread (2009)

Tired of boring studies, Quaid (Sean Evans Shaun Evans), Stephen Grace (Jackson Rathbone Jackson Rathbone) and girlfriend Cheryl Fromm (Hannah Stirn Hanne Steen) collaborate on a study to explore the sources of human terror. They interviewed the candidates and asked them to tell them what they feared most. At the same time, the three men slowly talked about their respective knots. Stephen's brother died in a car accident, so he had a natural fear of cars and death; Cheryl's father worked in a slaughterhouse, making her resistant to meat; and Quaid saw her parents killed by a broken-in man at the age of 6, with a bloody shadow hanging over her mind. Their research was drawing to a close, but Quaid became more and more emotionally unstable, and he finally came to the brink of collapse.
