Danny (Dylan Purcell), an art student, recently experienced the blow of being lovelorn: his girlfriend quietly moved away all her personal belongings. Danny finds comfort from a friend who is recovering from drugs in the hospital and accidentally glimpses Baxter (Cherilyn Wilson), a girl in the ward who is lethargic because of "transient wakefulness syndrome". Danny falls in love with him at first sight. Wolp, a psychopathic hypnotist held in the surveillance room next door, and the doctors who experimented on patients made Danny worried about Baxter's future. He sneaked back to the hospital and took the girl. Baxter could not break free from the strange mirror illusion in his dreams. Danny seized all Baxter's little waking time to try to get her back to normal life, but Volp in the hospital insisted on his ownership of Baxter and invaded her mind. The police soon found Danny's place to search for Baxter, but the real threat came from the crazy hypnotist Volp.
