In the summer of 1943, in a town not far from the border between France and Spain under German fascist occupation, Mark Cross, an elderly sculptor, felt as if his life and art had come to an end. One day, Spanish refugee Melsey fled to the town from a concentration camp, and Mark and his wife took her in. Mark regarded the young and beautiful Melsey as a muse, which he thought would give him inspiration and inspiration, and Melsey agreed to be his model.
