Eldorado (2018)

The works of Swiss director Marcus Markus Imhoof tend to focus on controversial social issues. Imhoff's "Der Berg,1990" and "Das Boot ist voll,1981" were nominated for the Berlin Golden Bear Award, for which the director won the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 31st Berlin Film Festival. Years later, Imhoff made his debut in Berlin again. Inspired by Imhoff's encounter with Italian refugee child Giovanna during World War II, the latest documentary, "Golden Nation," travels the Mediterranean, Lebanon, Italy, Germany and Switzerland to try to explore the root causes of the world's refugee crisis.
