The young and capable Miranda (Halle Berry Halle Berry) is an accomplished criminal psychologist who runs a psychotherapy facility with her husband. Both of them are prosperous in life and career. But Miranda, who has always been rational, also met a difficult opponent. One of her patients, Chloe (Penn é lope Cruz), one of her patients, was jailed for murdering her stepfather. Chloe was often immersed in unrealistic fantasies, which troubled Miranda. On a rainy night, Miranda nearly bumped into a little girl on her way home, and something incredible happened. When she woke up from her coma, she found herself locked up in a mental hospital and then faced charges of murdering her husband.
