The documentary Legend Font, directed by independent producer Gary Hustwit, tells the story of Helvetica font from its origin to its characteristics and influence. The film interviews three generations of designers of different periods to talk about the story behind this simple, direct and eye-catching legendary font. In 1957, the new font Helvetica was made by Max Mierdinger and Edward Hoffman as typesetting type at Haas Foundry in M ü nchenstein, Switzerland. With the advent of a new era of industrialization, this font form, which is easy to identify and read, is more adapted to the needs of fast-paced life and industrial production, and soon swept the world. In 2007, the 50th anniversary of the birth of Helvetica font. Helvetica fonts have existed everywhere we can see, and have almost become a symbol of industrial civilization and mechanization.
