Famous director Gus Van Sant and Frank worked together again after Milk to shoot a very controversial former gay figure: Michael Gladz. He used to be a leading gay activist in the United States, and he himself is gay, and founded YGA, a gay magazine for teenagers. But in 2004, he suddenly became a conservative Christian because of a heart attack, saying goodbye to same-sex identity and taking a wife, advocating "de-assimilation" and claiming that homosexuality poisons teenagers.
