Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio Leonardo DiCaprio) and colleagues Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Nash (Lucas Haas Lukas Haas) fail in a dream-stealing operation against Japanese energy tycoon Saito (Ken Watanabe) and are used by Saito instead. Saito forces Cobb, who is wanted to go into exile, to help him break up his rival's company, taking extreme measures to subconsciously plant the idea of abandoning the family company and starting his own business in the deep subconscious of his only heir, Robert Fisher (played by Hillian Murphy Cillian Murphy). In order to return to the United States, Cobb secretly turns to his father-in-law Miles (Michael Kane Michael Caine), recruiting young dream designer Ariadne (Alan Peggy Ellen Page), dream actor Ames (Tom Hardy Tom Hardy) and pharmacist Joseph (Dileep Law Dileep Rao) to join the action. At one layer after another.
