The film is adapted from the famous 19th century British writer Charlotte Bronte's novel Jane Eyre of the same name, which is a miniseries produced by BBC in 2006. The heroine Jane Eyre (Ruth Wilson Ruth Wilson) is an orphan. After studying at Lowood School from an early age, she eventually became a governess and came to Thornfield Manor to be in charge of the teaching of a girl named Adele.
