This film is based on the Vietnamese classical literary work Qiaozhuan (written by Nguyen you, a poet in the early 19th century). Qiao Zhuan, also known as "heartbroken Xinsheng", is adapted by Ruan you based on the original novel Jin Yunqiao written by Qingxincai in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The work mainly uses Vietnamese native characters and Vietnamese pure classical metrical poem "six-eight style" to complete a narrative poem with a length of 3254 sentences. Therefore, the work has a strong "national character". It embodies the "national soul" and "national marrow" of "raccoon dog Hong descendants". Qiao Zhuan mainly narrates the rough life and experience of Wang Cuiqiao, who came from a scholarly family.
