Story outline: Lear fought for the land all his life and made great contributions to the independence of Texas. Although he is stubborn and shows no mercy to his opponents, he is still respected by people. On the day of celebrating Texas Independence Day, Lear invited back his two married daughters and decided to share his land between them and his youngest daughter Claudia. The two sisters Suzanne and Rebecca got the land after praising their father, but Claudia was not good at expressing herself although she had lived with her father since childhood and had the deepest feelings with her father. In Claudia's view, love does not need any language. But the stubborn Lear thought that the youngest daughter was not loyal to herself, and that his care and love for her over the years had not been rewarded as expected. The angry Lear drove Claudia out of the house and split all the land in two to Suzanne and Rebecca. The sad Claudia came to Valentine's door Chuck's farm. Many years ago, Menchak's father and Lear were friends, but later broke up because of the land problem. Although Menchak's cowboys often clash with Lear's men, Lear once assured the president when Texas became independent that he would not occupy it.
