This four-and-a-half-hour documentary records that France, especially the town of Clermont-Fran, was occupied by the Nazis in France from 1940 to 1944. The director interviewed a large number of parties: former German officers, collaborators and resistance of the town, as well as local people, government officials and British agents, through their comments on that period of history, reasons, details, etc., reproduced the true face of France under German occupation at that time, and had the courage to discover and reveal the psychological state of the French who bowed to the Nazis. At that time, the French Vichy government cooperated with the Nazis, and the fallen French cowardly became French traitors or worked for the Germans. The film is divided into two parts. The first part "collapse" includes an interview with the former French Prime Minister Pierre Mend è s-France, who has been charged with fighting against the Vichy government. In the second part, "Choice", the visitor, Ren é de Chambrun, was one of 7, 000 young French men who fought on the eastern front in German costumes. A lot of content is to interview the parties, including resistance, collaborators, politicians, ordinary people, the United Kingdom.
