The film can be said to be adapted from the TV version of Emil, an educational masterpiece written by Rousseau in the 18th century. Godal is a television program to address the issue of education. For Godal and the two characters in the film, the fundamental problem with education is to be able to provide some understanding of the sounds and images that impact us all the time in daily life. Such an understanding must be based on mastering the relationship between sound and video, because unless we have such a grasp, using the dialogue in the film, we will not be able to really understand or make television or movies.
