Lifeboat (1944)

During World War II, a passenger ship sank after a fierce battle with a German submarine in the North Atlantic Ocean, with passengers five men and three women riding lifeboats for their lives. These include famous writer Connie Porter (Tallulah Bankhead Tallulah Bankhead), engineer John Kovic (John Hordik John Hodiak), messenger Stanley Garrett (Hume Cronin Hume Cronyn), leg injured Gus Smith (William Bandix William Bendix), tycoon Charles Rittenhouse (Henry Hull Henry Hull) Joe (Canadian Lee Canada Lee), a black waitress on board, Alice (Mary Anderson Mary Anderson), a nurse, and Mrs. Haley (Heather Angel Heather Angel), who is deranged by the death of her baby.
