In the 1920s, there were two adjoining towns in Florida in the southeastern United States. One is poor and desolate with predominantly white residents; the other is the rich and prosperous black town of ─ Rosewood. Pre-existing racial tensions were exacerbated by a white woman's misaccusation that a strange black man had attacked her. The white mob began to kill the Rosewood people angrily, and a large number of innocent women and children were forced to flee their homes. At this time, a white shopkeeper and a veteran broke down racial barriers and helped many old and weak residents to avoid brutal atrocities. However, they will never return home with endless fear.
