Lumière! (2016)
In view of the fact that the early short films invented by the Lumiere brothers have not been well repaired for many years, Lumiere learned to work with the French Film Archive, the French Lightning Group, the Bologna Restoration Laboratory and other institutions to repair 150 films shot by Lumiere cameras with 4k resolution since 2013. Because each film is very short, Fu Mao, director of the Lumiere Institute and program director of the Cannes Film Festival, classified 114 films according to different themes and put them together to form a collection with a total length of about 95 minutes. Named Lumiere! The adventure begins. The collection was specially shown on the 120th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival in May 2015, which was also attended by the French prime minister. The screening is similar to the way explained by the preamble, and while watching the film, the audience also listened to Fumao's simultaneous comments.
