L'uomo che verrà (2009)

In 1943, Martina (Greta Zucheri Montanali Greta Zuccheri Montanari), an eight-year-old girl in rural Bologna, Italy, waits hopefully for the birth of her little brother. Martina refused to speak after her last brother died in her arms, for which she was often ridiculed by the children in the village. But all the adults in the family love her very much, including her sister-in-law Benmina (played by Alba Lolvacher Alba Rohrwacher) who comes home from the city. Martina's father Armando (Claudio Casadio Claudio Casadio) works hard to support a large family. Although he supports the local resistance, he also has to sell agricultural products to scattered German Nazis. With the escalation of the conflict between the resistance and the Nazis, the pace of war is getting closer and closer. Martina silently observed what was happening in the village and the killing and death that eventually came that she could not understand.
