In the 30th year of Showa, Fangfu City, located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, is a beautiful place leaning on mountains, water and fresh air. Yoshiko Aoki (voiced by Yuko Fukuda), who is in the third grade of primary school, grew up here, and she likes to hear her grandfather's story about the ancient country building in this small town thousands of years ago. One day, a transfer student from a big city walked into Xinzi's class. This is Keiko Shimazu (voiced by Neiko Mizumi), with fair skin, well-educated and completely different from native-born children. Xinzi became friends with the slightly reserved Gui Yizi, and led Gui Yizi into this pastoral life full of fantasy and magic. This film is based on Takashi Takahashi's autobiographical novel "Yoshiko Shinko", and won the best animated film award at the 14th Japanese Culture Department Media Arts Festival in 2010.
