Maundy Thursday (2006)
Although Liu Zhen (Li Yingna), a university lecturer, is beautiful on the surface, she has been plagued by the painful experience of being raped by her cousin as a child, so she is very dissatisfied with her mother's way of making peace. She doesn't believe in love, nor does she believe in fate, and she has three attempted suicides. Even though she was very reluctant, she went to the re-education-through-labor camp under the arrangement of her aunt. Inside she met Runxiu (Jiang Dongyuan), who was sentenced to death for murder. Because they also had the fate of being abandoned by their mother and felt the same despair of life, the two quickly let down their guard, from knowing each other to falling in love, warming each other and comforting each other's hearts. But just when they are passionately in love, Runxiu's sentence is coming.
