It is adapted from Austen's novel Northanger Temple of the same name. Catherine (Felicity Jones), the daughter of a country priest, is an innocent girl who is restricted by the closed family environment. She roams and explores the world of the novel all day long, so as to add splendor to the plain life. Under the guidance of rich friends, Catherine entered the social circle of high society, and she finally saw the fancy world in reality, including hypocritical and cunning people such as the Thorpe brothers and sisters and General Tierney, as well as Eleanor, a close friend worthy of lifelong acquaintance. Catherine and Elinor's brother: the gentle, handsome Henry (JJ Feild) falls in love at first sight, good-bye, and of course, they will be greeted by the tribulations and trials that Austen's hero and heroine are bound to experience.
