Old Partner (2008)

Cui Yijun and Li Sanshun are an old couple living in the mountains of North Beijing, South Korea. At the age of 80, they are still unable to give up their work and commute between their small homes and fields all day. Compared with his eloquent and complaining wife, Cui Yijun appears reticent. When he was a child, he suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, which made it difficult for him to move, and farm work became a big problem. Fortunately, an old scalper is often around. For more than 40 years, the old scalper not only helped the couple share most of the work, but also enabled them to send their children to school. Cui Yijun loved the scalpers more than his wife. From spring to autumn, the scorching sun frosts, and time flows slowly in repetition. In the twinkling of an eye, the couple are old and stumbling, and the old scalper, who has worked hard for many years, is about to come to the end of his life. This film won the award for best documentary at the 13th Busan International Film Festival.
