On Her Shoulders (2018)

Although only 23 years old, the Kurdish girl Nadia Murad has experienced inhuman experiences: the whole family was killed by the Islamic State group and became a sex slave. She is determined to make public the sufferings of her countrymen, even if she has to face painful memories and private revelations. Female director Alexandria Bombach truly records Murad's double life as both a victim and a brave warrior through the camera. Won the best documentary director award at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
