Holly (Hilary Swank) and Gary (Gerald Butler) love each other, although sometimes they quarrel, but these are the spice of their lives. Holly felt that she had found her favorite, but Gary died of brain cancer after their marriage. Since then, Holly has lived in the pain of losing a loved one. She felt that her husband had not left, and she could still feel Gary at home. She traps herself at home, and two friends, Denise (Lisa Kudrow), Sarah and Holly's mother, and Daniel, the bartender at her mother's bar, are all worried about her. Since her thirtieth birthday, she has been receiving letters from Gary, with a note "I love you" at the end of each letter. Gary's letter injected strength into Holly's life, and she moved forward step by step, but in fact Gary was dead, and she had to live alone after all. Denise is pregnant, Sarah is about to get married, they both live in happiness, Holly suddenly feels lonely. She began to avoid the public again. Daniel has been with Holly since he met her. Daniel expresses his love to Holly. Holly ran into her mother's arms for the first time and cried bitterly.
