Henry Charles (Steve McQueen Steve McQueen), nicknamed Babylon, is about to be exiled to a prison camp called Devil Island in Guyana for life. Charlie was arrested and jailed on charges of killing a pimp, but he always thought he was innocent. On the escort ship, the able-bodied Charlie protects Louis Degas, a cunning intellectual with glasses (Dustin Hoffman Dustin Hoffman). In order to clear his name, Charlie began to plan to escape from prison with the help of Degas from the first day he set foot on Devil's Island. However, "Devil's Island" is located in a barren land, surrounded by water, and there are terrible diseases everywhere. Charlie escaped from prison again and again and was caught again and again. For more than a decade, he still desperately jumped into the sea with a bag of coconut shells to escape. The classic American prison break adventure film Babylon is based on the best-selling book Babylon of the same name published by French prisoner Henry Charles in 1969. Babylon is a nickname for Henry Charles, named after the butterfly-shaped tattoo on his chest. This film won the 46th Olympic Games in 1974.
