Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975)

On Valentine's Day in 1900, Australia's Apouliad Women's College, which follows British education, organized an outing destined for Haiyin overhanging Rock. Orphan Sarah was unable to travel because of the delay in tuition fees, so she could only watch her good friend Miranda and her classmates set out under the leadership of Miss McClough. After arriving at the destination, Miranda and four others left the team for rock climbing. Michael and his servant Albert, who were hiking under the hanging rock, found that Michael fell in love with Miranda at first sight and followed. That night, the headmaster received reports of the disappearance of four people, including McLows and Miranda. The police immediately stepped in to investigate, and the headmaster was nervous about the reputation of the college, while Sarah didn't think about dinner because of the loss of Miranda. Michael and Albert climb rock search to find a female student, but Miranda is still missing. Sarah was driven back to the orphanage by the headmaster in despair. She chose to commit suicide. The film is based on Joan Leslie's novel of the same name and won the British Film Academy Award for best cinematography in 1977.
