Pursuit of Death (1980)

Director Lin Quanze, the son of a guerrilla, blends his experience with modern history for the first time. Bai Gongshan (Choi Yun Seoko), a guerrilla who is known as the "crooked nose", is arrested, and the criminal policeman Song Jilie (Luo Xiyi) accidentally makes him escape on the way to escort him. From then on, Song Jilie quit his job, lost all his money, and began a 30-year follow-up. Thirty years later, both of them were old people suffering from diseases and met again. Song Jilie was going to take Bai Gong Mountain back to his hometown, ashamed of his mistakes at that time. The anti-communist guerrilla war in North Korea after World War II has become the subject of many films by Lin Quan-ze. "crooked nose" is different from the later production of "Taibai Mountains" (1994), which is a large-scale production of thousands of troops in the barnyard valley. In order to depict the story of two men opposing each other between the north and the south in reverse order and micro vision, the criminal police of the Song Dynasty arrested the guerrillas for life in order to wash away the stigma of being expelled by the military at that time. The crooked nose travels all over the world, but meets the mortal enemy again in the dying shelter. As the son of a guerrilla member, Lin Quanze stood on the standpoint of human nature, criticized the cruel struggle of the North-South War with an impartial attitude, and reflected on the harm that the war brought to human life, dignity and human nature.
