Queen to Play (2009)

The story takes place in a small village on Corsica, where Helena (Sandrine Bernell Sandrine Bonnaire) lives in isolation. With her husband and children, Helena seems to have everything in her life. By chance, Helena saw an American couple playing chess in an open-air coffee shop. Black and white chessboards and pieces of different shapes soon attracted Helena's attention, and she madly began to indulge in the game. Also fond of chess games is Kong GE (Kevin Klein Kevin Kline), who lives in the same village. With the help of Kong GE, Helena puts her infinite imagination into the chessboard and finds infinite possibilities in the complicated rules. As time went on, chess gradually changed Helena's life.
