In 1968, a storm swept through France in May, and the student movement sprang up. The young poet Francis (Louis Garrel Luis Galaire) escapes military service, indulges in marijuana, poetry and love, and is free to squander his youth in chaotic times with his good friend Anthony. Soon a girl named Lily, a sculptor who works in a casting factory, appeared in front of Francis. The two soon fell in love. A year later, Francis was still living a decadent and free life, and by chance Lily began to think seriously about their future.
