The serious and alert Detective Li (Jackie Chan) and the mean-mouthed Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) usher in a more arduous task after successfully completing two transnational missions. Consul Han, who investigated the criminal evidence of the "Sanhe Society", was assassinated, and Officer Li, who deeply blamed himself, pursued the killer crazily, but James Carter, who was demoted as a traffic policeman, did not help.
