Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993)

Josh (Marcos Pomeranian Max Pomeranc) is an ordinary and ordinary American boy. One day, he plays chess with his father Fred (Joe Mantner Joe Mantegna) and miraculously defeats his experienced father. After that, Josh took part in the Chess Open, showing amazing talent all the way through. The parents decided to train Josh to be a talented chess player. One day, a man named Winnie (Lawrence Fishburne Laurence Fishburne) appeared beside Josh, and with the passage of time, the two formed a deep friendship. At the same time, the parents brought in the respected go teacher Bruce (Ben Kingsley Ben Kingsley) to guide Josh. Before long, however, Josh got tired of the boring life of sitting in front of the chessboard day after day.
