After the old manor owner died, the poor mother and daughter were expelled from the manor by the eldest son. With the help of relatives, they settled down in a small farmhouse. What the elder sister-in-law of the power eye did not expect is that her brother Edward (Hugh Grant) fell in love with the eldest sister Eleanor (Emma Thompson). Although the sensible Eleanor fell in love with Edward, she tried to restrain her feelings in consideration of the great disparity in their status. Meanwhile, sister Mariana (Kate Winslet) and handsome officer Willoughby (Gray Wise) fall in love. The emotional Mariana passionately releases her admiration for Willoughby, regardless of hurting the feelings of the suitor Colonel Brandon (Alan Rickman). It never occurred to me that Willoughby was a bad person and didn't really take Mariana's feelings to heart. The relationship between the two sisters fell into crisis one after another. Which of the two sisters with very different personalities can get true love and get what they want? How can the mother and daughter get out of the predicament of life?
