The story tells that 8-year-old Jenny is often plagued by the discord between her lawyer mother Maggie and her artist father Jeff. She leads a lonely but imaginative life, accompanied by a group of puppets based on her father's works and known as "scary relatives". Maggie dies in a hit-and-run accident, and Jeff and Jenny try to start a new life. But when Maggie's father sued for custody and babysitter Samantha tried to be the new hostess of the family, they took a dark turn in their life at the country house in Brooklyn. The terrible puppets are all alive, and Jenny is the only one who can see them. When the motives of these terrorist creatures become clear, everyone's life is in great danger.
