The debut of Burhan Qurbani, a 29-year-old young German director with an immigrant background, reflects the integration process in Germany today through three interrelated stories. The film is called "Sda," an Arabic name for the Muslim faith. The three stories are carefully woven together. A girl who has an illegal abortion is humiliated and prepares to stay away from the control of fundamentalism; a gay man struggles with a sexual orientation that conflicts with doctrine; and a policeman, who is a good Muslim in front of his wife, but is actually having an affair.
